Learning Objectives
· To provide an opportunity for students to collect real-life experiences from HR Professionals or business leaders
· To compare and contrast these experiences with course content and expectations
· To articulate personal insights into the comparison between theory and practice of team dynamics, dysfunctions and performance
· To reflect on personal desired outcomes for this class
Assignment Requirements
Connect with an HR Practitioner or business leader and ask the following questions.
a. Do your organization’s employees work in teams? If so, could you give me examples on how teams are being utilized to get the work done?
b. Could you tell me about a good or bad experience you had with working in a team?
c. How did this affect the team members’ experience? And how did this affect the organization?
You may connect with someone you know or utilize professional networks such as LinkedIn to reach out to someone in an HR role or who functions as a business leader.
Write a 6-7 page reflection paper on this assignment with the following outline:
· Introduce briefly in the first paragraph the person you’ve connected with, including position title and a brief background to the organization.
· Summarize the answers to the questions(one page, maximum).
· Analyze the answers given by comparing them to what you’ve learned so far about Group Dynamics and Leadership. Include; what took place, why did it happen, your insights and observations, and a clear link to the theories you are aware of at this point.
· Indicate what you personally want to gain from this class and link it to your observations (one page, maximum).

· Using “I” and “we” (first-person language) is acceptable in a reflection paper
· Grading will be based on:
· Adequately summarizing the answers and key facts related to the questions asked
· Providing an effective analysis of the experience discussed and showing insights by clearly describing observations and linking it to relevant theories
· A clear presentation/description of what happened, why and what you learned
· Effective style including structure, logic and fluency
· Correct grammar, mechanics and APA format for any additional references and/or citations
