Sustainable Energy Context
In most projects on energy, the main aim has been to achieve sustainability and reliability of energy in a given community. Most of the prior studies have focused on renewable sources of energy as a community initiative that aims at producing clean energy as well as meeting the needs of energy consumption and the goals of the environment. Modern technology has tremendously shaped the energy sector through innovative approaches to renewable energy generation including solar energy and wind power among other traditional, which have proved to be expensive, scarce, and some being hazardous to the surrounding. This form of energy is currently being utilized in industries and home such as solar hot water rebate program. The current studies have indicated that the high electricity consumption around the world is increasingly becoming a concern for many researchers. Notably, I have learnt that the various studies on this topic concentrate on the five value drivers, which that will contribute to the future utility market in the energy sector. In the first place, there is an extensive debate on the consumer’s search for their control over the energy demand and supply. The current data reveal that the customers will be able to their energy in the offing in an efficient way than today. Research points out the reasons for these predictions to be the fact that many people are looking for alternative sources of energy to mitigate the issue of higher electricity costs and shortage.
Secondly, the energy sustainability initiatives have placed emphasis on the transformation of energy sector into a service firm which will provide energy solutions such as home solutions. This goal can be achieved if there are proper operations and business models put in place to ensure such transformations. The current studies have also studied existing data concerning the energy which will be helpful to determine the energy value chain in future based on the outcomes of the initiatives established for sustainability. The future transformation of the power generation as well as network also constitutes the current debates by researchers. It is forecasted that the current disruption of energy value can go for about five years from now, requiring innovative solutions including the renewable energy to safeguard and raise the value of energy around the world. Lastly, most studies have also presented the evidence of the role of the government and its regulations on shaping the energy sector. Researchers suggest that these two factors will be crucial in reshaping the energy services as well as other associated service markets so as to satisfy the needs of the consumers.
The insights I have drawn from this research on sustainability is that the modern technology, increased need of energy consumption, and government regulations among other factors can shape today’s and future energy sector. These efforts are meant to fulfill the consumption and price needs of the customers which have turned to be a major issue today. Another lesson is the beauty of the innovative minds of researchers portrayed in the renewable energy communities (RECs) to curb the issues associated with the current energy sector. Additionally, the theoretical framework employed in the studies provides insight on the key drivers of the transformation in the field of energy around the world. The data obtained in the studies will play a key role in the future work concerning the determination of the energy value chain. The energy consumption patterns of the consumers will come from these studies for the analysis of the outcomes of the various renewable energy initiatives that have been established for sustainability.
