Dear Neha,

I would like to tell you that, I am in the city called Dusseldorf in which Tomas Saraceno – In orbit was made. Tomas Saraceno “in orbit” is an installation art work. It was created in the year 2011 – 2013 which is most recent and the artist comes under modern era. Tomas Saraceno used Medias like spheres and PVC balloons and the style used is medium of vibration. I want to spend money to visit the Dusseldorf because I want to experience the space, swim and climb sky with the help of spider web. The installation project “ in orbit “ by Tomas Saraceno makes the dream of people real in order to swim in the sky .Visitors can walk , swim , floats in the 25 meters above the ground and almost touch the sky through the glass ceiling building and can move freely between the three layers of spheres. The cost of travelling from Houston to Dusseldorf in which in orbit was made is $ 1300.the name in of the hotel in which I am staying is Leonardo royal hotel Dusseldorf and the cost of this hotel is $ 400. The original patron’s fact of “In orbit” is the artist made the work so uniquely in order to make the dream of people or visitors true to fly in sky.

Dusseldorf is located in Germany, state of north Rhine in west phalia. The city is the international business and financial center for fashion and trade fairs. The food of Dusseldorf is traditional meals like vinegar and spices with mashed potatoes. The culture of this city is traditional, classical and glamorous. The women are beautiful in this Dusseldorf. The architecture is most wonderful part which describes the beauty of the city. The most famous and one must see the architecture of this city are ‘The old trade harbour to the modern MedienHafen (Media Harbour)’ is one of the most amazing architecture in the city of Dusseldorf. This city is best known for its entertainment.one of the most famous place of entertainment is Ton Halle concert hall on the Rhine. It is musical hall with 300 and more seats which is quite amazing to watch. Düsseldorf lies at the center of the Lower Rhine basin, where the dossal river flows. The city lies on the east side of the Rhine. The city is mostly made on alluvial, sand and located in the eastern part .The climate is moderate in winters with snowfall and mild in summer. The average annual temperature is 10 degree.

The material used mostly in order to build in orbit is steel wires, floating spatial oscillating network with relationship and synchronous of communication. The spiders net, half a dozen of spheres diameters of up to 8.5 meters is used. In orbit was planned by Saraceno with several engineers, architects and biologists to create such an elaborate installation up to date. It is the construction along with weights of 3 tons and the largest spheres 300 kilos which was made with a unique settings and stability to put the structure of spider’s web. In orbit is the element with large scale project in order to put artist thinking into real world. The material most used is steel wires, spheres and balloons of light weights which match with the gravity to swim and climb for human being in the sky and fulfil the dream of human being. In orbit is positioned within the net structure so that visitors can freely move between the layers in the sky. Artists use visually light in which he refers to make spider web and soap bubbles visible. The installation is also composed of six transparent spheres which provides the spatial reference points between the net levels.

The period is MODERNISM in which the installation of “in orbit” is made which is quite recent. The style was flourished in the year of 2011 – 2014. The political history of the present era I.e. modernism is quite interesting and also changed from the past. Now in the present world artists have given more importance in order to present their ideas in form of art work. In orbit is basically based on modern technology. So modern technology has its own importance and advanced in creating a huge installation project like the “in orbit”. The visual elements of the modern period retained from the past because if the Tomas Saraceno wants to make in orbit in 19th century would be difficult him to make because at that time the technology was not so advanced as compare to today. “In orbit “is basically based of used of modern technology and modern idea in today’s world which is visual elements of the modern period that are emphasized.

The objects used in the artworks are spider nets, steel wires, PVC balloons, soap bubbles etc. the installation of work looks like models of universe that depicts the forces of gravity and planetary bodies. The artists has used 2D medium which visualizes like to fly and swim in the sky. The colors and pattern are visually in order to refer to the delicate spiders and bubbles soap. The artist is trying to say it is observation of nature and has a relationship with the universe of heavenly bodies.

Tomas Saraceno was born in the year of 1973.His hometown is in Argentina but lives and works in Germany. He is best known for its sculptural work and installation of the orbit. He was postgraduate in the arts and architecture in Staatliche hochschule, Frankfurt, Germany. He is the winner of the Calder prize for international space studies program of NASA in 2009. Tomas was mostly inspired by finding comparison between the spongy universe and complex spider web.

The artist name Richard Buckminster fuller was also working during the period and was influence by the Tomas Saraceno. The Richard Buckminster was mostly known for its spaceship earth, which was mostly compared to artwork of Tomas Saraceno “in orbit”. Spaceship of earth basically deals with negatively impacting the system of earth.it was mostly a rhetoric device emphasize on the common life of mankind.

“In orbit” is an installation artwork and it is located at K21 Standehaus museum in Dusseldorf, Germany. By visiting Dusseldorf , I have learnt how the artists has used his imagination in making a huge installation of artwork In making the dream of human being come true in flying , swimming in sky. If I get again chance of visiting the city I would again fly in the sky by going to in orbit and even take you to fly with me. Believe me it was amazing experience in flying in the sky though I was not fly actually but I felt same flying in sky without any support.
