Online Field Trip
The best way for people to improve their education is through learning from the experience of others and reading from different perspectives. Ideally, people use online field trips to learn and interact with other people. An online field trip allows students to compare what they learn in class with materials suggested by other authors. Seeing online content is an interesting activity as the person taking the initiative gets many chances to expound their educational ideas. For this paper, the major focus is an exploration of different websites and relating them to the learning environment. Five links will be selected and reviewed to explain how they will improve my personal career in future.

The Association of Teachers of Mathematics (ATM)
The Association of Teachers of Mathematics is a home for members that have an interest in teaching mathematics. Since its establishment in 1952, the ATM encourages the learning and teaching of mathematics by highlighting different ways to excel in the subject (ATM, 2016). The ATM is a registered charity organization, with more than 3000 registered members working as mathematics teachers in different schools and institutions.
Center for Implementing Technology in Education (CITEd) Math Matrix
The Center for Implementing Technology in Education (CITEd) is an educational association that receives its funding from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs, and Center for Applied Technology, and the Education Development Center (CITEd, 2016). In the year 2004 and 2008, CITEd offered technical assistance and free online resources to different categories of studies, which included vetted resources organized by roles, responsibilities, and topics, and emerging learning activities based on the latest research.
National Council of Mathematics
National Council of Mathematics (NCTM) was founded in 1920, and it has stood out to be world’s largest mathematics learning association. The NCTM organization has more than 60,000 members and more than 230 associates across the U.S. and Canada.

The site is created for the middle school students and their families. The challenges posted on the website are used by teachers, parents, and students by downloading the mathematics PDF documents on the site.
ARC Center
ARC Center is a non-profit organization that works with the goal of improving mathematics education for learners. The organization works with teachers and students to create a mathematics environment that involves all form of studying models.
Show-Me Center
Show-Me Center is an association established to support teachers in their work so that they can deliver high-quality curriculum materials through the most efficient strategies. The organization has developed curriculum projects since 1997.
Writing and Communication Mathematics
The communication site helps students of mathematics understand how they can respond and express themselves in mathematical classes. The site is crucial to educators because effective communication will enable teachers to deliver the learning models effectively and determine the best ways to communicate to students.
PBS Teacher Source: Article Achieve-Assessment
The PBS site has 356 stations in more than 50 states in the United States. The site is set to provide the Prek-12 teachers with free digital content and opportunities to develop their teaching task.
The International Study Group on Enthnomatherics
The association was introduced in 1985 by famous math educators in America. The group is essential as it sponsors programs that relate to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Cool Math Game
The site is set to help the children who have a problem with mathematics additions and subtraction. In the site, there are different types of games, which include popular games, logic games, strategy games, and numbers games.
Count Us In
This website is designed to help students learn and acquire mathematical concepts online under different categories. When students visit the site, they learn things such as classifying and counting numbers.
Math Playground
Math Playground is a number puzzle game, where young students can use the game to solve mathematical problems. The 4th-grade students mostly use the site, where they can create a math test as a way of testing their mathematical understanding and capability.
Arithmetic Four
This is a game website, where students can start the game by just clicking on any setting highlights math’s problems. Some of the math problems that can be solved by the use of Arithmetic Four Game include whole addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
SpeedMath Deluxe (Jefferson Lab)
The site is designed to help students understand the creation of equations. SpeedMath Deluxe outlines that equations can be created through the use mathematical signs, but without rearranging the numbers.
Base-Ten Blocks
The site quotes that the national Library of Virtual Manipulatives (NLVM) is a project that was started in 1999. The reasons for the creation of this association was to develop a library that integrates web-based virtual with the concept of mathematics.
The Place Games (Jefferson Lab)
Jefferson Lab is managed by Jefferson Science Associate, as a limited company that is known to deal with the concept of applied technologies. Since it is a science association, the role of Place Value Game to mathematics is to create numbers from the digit that the computer gives the readers and educators.
Beat Calc
The Beat Calc is a website that is created to show other techniques that can be used for mathematical calculations. The site is trying to express that students do not have to rely on the calculator, but they can use tools such as Beat Calc to conduct different mathematic functions.
Estimation-Hundreds
The site guides student on the process of rounding off numbers to the nearest hundreds. The site is useful to students of different level as it helps them understands the estimation and matching of numbers.
Slope Slider
This site is about mathematical drawings and the way students can become competent in the activity. The site assists the students to know the relationship between slope and interception in a coordinated system.
Defeat the Fraction Monster
The website is suitable for kids who have a problem concerning fractions. The website provides children with the basic skills on the mathematical fractions and they can use the skills in the classroom.
Maze Game
The Maze Game website allows the student to practice mathematical geometrical activities. When one visits the site, he or she will learn about plotting mathematical graphs in the most effective manner.

The links directly relate to the field of mathematics, and therefore, they will be influential in my personal career. The links will enlighten me about the way students can learn different computational subjects, and how I can teach the subject in various contexts. As an education student, I will use the links in familiarizing myself with mathematics and different mathematical concepts for efficiency in the subject. Firstly, I plan to use the links to learn the best way to approach math fractions. In the link, learn with-math-game, it is listed that for one to understand the mathematics of fractions, one needs to build a sound foundation in fractions and use them as the basis for the learning of math.
Moreover, I plan to use the links to understand the way I can support my future students’ ability to solve mathematical problems as fast as possible. The links provide information on how students can use mathematical signs to create equations, with the applications of a certain set of arrangements of digits. This suggests that one can come up with a math equation in the shortest time possible, which will be substantial for the student, and improve the speed required to learn and master mathematical concepts. It is my hope to use the links to understand other techniques that are more efficient than a calculator. I will carry out an exercise using the information in this link so that I can learn whether it is worth using other methods to solve mathematical equations and problems, other than a calculator. Although mathematics is sometimes a challenging subject, I intend to use the links to reveal whether mathematics will be a fun subject to teach in the future, and for the younger generation to learn. Here, I will use the math game link to discover if math has a relationship with other disciplines such as art, trigonometry, and motion. Finally, as there are many math games, I will use the mathematics content in the link to freely create specific outcomes, and expand my math experience through exploring the advanced mathematics concepts that the link outlines.
