Step 2: You as the Historian
The next step in this project is to collect the information you find the most important to the individual’s dance history. This may include their personal background and culture, their teachers and school of training, their influences and processes. You may use the elements our text highlighted as important features of dance history or you may decide for yourself what is most important to an artist’s history. How would you write their story?
The information you collect through your research will be used to write the research paper component of this project.
Paper Requirements:
• 2- 3 pages
• Typed
• Double-spaced
• 12 pt font size
• Times New Roman or similar font
• MLA or APA formats are acceptable
All papers will be submitted through SafeAssign, the plagiarism tool used by Blackboard and Lamar University. As with all research, the use of quotes and proper citing techniques are required. In SafeAssign, the system will mark all matches including those in quotes to calculate an overall percentage of resources used in writing the paper. Please take extra care in utilizing your skills to develop your own language for the information presented. Even with the use of quotes, the paper cannot have more than a 25% match in the SafeAssign report. If the report returns a higher percentage, points will be deducted.
