Wright, Richard. Uncle Tom’s Children (Kindle edition provided to assigned writer)
Analyze and compare and contrast the primary male characters found in each story. Consider their age, occupation, stage of life, aims and goals, family connections, psychological characteristics, basic personality, and their hopes for the future. Explain how all this contributes to the conclusion of each narrative. It would help to make an outline of these traits for each story.

1. Paper should be titled and the organization and body of paper should always reflect the title. Paper should be documented. Use ONLY articles found on the TSU Library website. Login will be provided to assigned writer.

2. The introduction should have an underlined thesis statement which clearly states what paper is about. ALWAYS WRITE ABOUT THE BOOK IN THE PRESENT TENSE. The introduction should give information on the general themes and subjects which paper will specifically talk about in subsequent paragraphs.

3. The second part should give biographical information on the author with in text correct citations. In text references should be in parenthesis. This part should give general facts about the author and his works, the times he wrote about the historical background of the work, etc. The facts about the author’s life (biographical material) and historical material concerning the times in which the author wrote should not be more than two paragraphs.

4. The next part of the paper should give information on setting, conflict, and themes found in the work. One paragraph only with documentation where necessary

5. The longest part of the term paper should analyze the literary work assigned with attention to the topic assigned novel (go up to the very first direction). This is what the paper is about. Do not abbreviate this part. Do not use long quotes. If you quote from the book, document it.

6. You will need opinions of expert critics which should be documented with in text references in parenthesis along your own analyses and criticisms using sources from the TSU Library Website only.

7.The paper must have a conclusion that takes into consideration the conclusion of the work itself. Also you need to come to some decision about the significance of what you have learned as a result of your analysis and/or the significance of the author’s purpose for writing the novel. What does the author want readers to learn or understand?

7. All paragraphs and summary information, including dates and biographical facts should be documented with fin text citations and a works cited page. You need three references along with the book itself. This makes four references.

9. Do not copy various paragraphs from different sources and turn them in. This is plagiarism and will result in a paper that is disorganized and illogical. Paper should reflect style of writing, opinions, and critical analysis.

10. The paper should be one complete essay, not separated into SMALL sections. Use transition and topic sentences to go from one section to another.

11. The internal citations and works cited must match. You should not have books and articles listed in works cited that do not match the notes found in the body of paper.
