Recently, healthcare policy funding and reform have been in the news. In Minnesota, funding and program cuts for General Assistance Medical Care(GAMC) has made headlines. On a national level, the U.S. Congress has recently passed a health care reform bill. For this paper, chose a recent (within the past year) piece of legislation or proposed legislation that will affect how health care is delivered or funded. This could be either national or state legislation from the state in which you reside.
The following rubric will be used to evaluate this assignment:
1.Identify the legislation and describe (in your own words) what the provisions of the law/bill are.
2.Describe how the law/bill will impact the care of patients/clients. If you are currently employed, focus on the populations that you typically work with.
3.As a nurse, what is your reaction to this law/bill? What do you like and dislike about the provisions of this law/bill?
