Syd Field talks about the 3 act paradigm in the movies, which consists of 2 turning points, act one and act two. However, there are some movies that does not fit the 3 act paradigm, like Alfred Hitchcock‘s movie Psycho (or like Memento, Love Actually…) . Define Psycho’s paradigm. What is different then the 3 act one? How is the story telling? Basically, make up a new paradigm for the movie Psycho which is different than the 3 act paradigm. And explain why might Hitchcock chose to go that way.
