Use only peer reviewed/refereed journal articles from the psychological literature as reference sources.
The focus should be on hereditary/genetic influences toward the development of abnormal levels of anger, aggression, or violence in an individual. While environmental influences certainly also contribute, the focus is to remain on heritability related reasons. However, offer a brief comparison in how aggression is commonly acquired from a genetic versus environmental influence/perspective. Discussion of the theories and traits that support an argument for the development of aggression from heritable influences should be the central theme and be strongly supported by the literature. Strengths and weaknesses of this argument should be integrated within the line of reasoning. Definitions should be offered, along with explanation of the neurological mechanisms of aggression. Developmental, cognitive, behavioral, and physiological aspects of aggression should be presented. Any differences between males and females in the heritable acquisition of aggression should be discussed. Coping strategies and therapeutic techniques should be discussed.
