The subject matter of this paper will be a discussion comparing and contrasting Ben Franklin and Jonathan Edwards as examples of Enlightenment thinking. Researh in light of their backgrounds, intellectual development, beliefs, and contributions to their time. In writing, consider why both could be considered as examples of the “Age of Enlightenment” as Enlightened thinkers and how and why Franklin and Edwards differed in their approaches. How did they differ in their approach to both the political and religious ideas that developed during this time? Also, consider what made them different in how they viewed life, religion, and the influences in the world at that time which spawned those beliefs.
