Week 1: Guidelines and Grading Rubric
for PICOT Question Approval Discussion
Purpose
The purpose of this activity is for students to share and discuss their PICOT questions with each other and with their instructor. Students work with the instructor during Week 1 to get approval on their PICOT questions before proceeding with their education practicum projects.

Directions
Read the guidelines and grading rubrics for the introductory problem statement, literature review and intervention/evaluation plan and discuss your PICOT question and education practicum project ideas with your mentor. Your education practicum project is a major component of the practicum experience. It should be an activity that will benefit the organization and contribute to your ability to achieve the course outcomes.
Share your PICOT question with your instructor and peers within the discussion thread. Provide feedback for at least one other student on his or her post.
You must get your PICOT question approved by your instructor by the end of Week 1.
Overall, this assignment consists of at least two posts in Week 1. The two posts should be made over two or more days with the first post due by Wednesday of Week 1, 11:59 pm MT. Note: Scholarly literature or references do not need to be used in this discussion unless you use an article as a suggestion.
Initial post (Due by Wednesday of Week 1, 11:59 pm MT)
- Provide a description of your Education Practicum Project, including the educational issue and your educational intervention (Approximately 100 words).
- Provide your PICOT question in the discussion thread.
- Your instructor must approve your PICOT question by the end of Week 1.
Second post (made on a separate day)
- Respond to at least one other student with a comment, question or other feedback.
