LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT CRITIQUE
This is a writing intensive assignment that fulfills the senior level college requirement.
Part I
- Reflect on a clinical situation during which you exhibited leadership.
- Describe the situation. (2%)
- Define your leadership style in the situation. (3%)
Part I (revised) plus Part II
- Identify and describe the power types (levels) & source(s) of power you used in the situation. (4%)
- Identify the Motivation Theory you used in the situation. (4%)
- Describe the receptiveness of staff and/or peers to your leadership (2%)
Part I (revised) plus Part II (revised) plus Part III
- Give your personal critique of how the situation was accepted or rejected by the group. What is an alternate style you may have employed to improve or change the outcome? (12%)
- Organization, APA format, and scholarly references. (3%)
Total: 30 points
Papers must be typed using Times New Roman 12 font & appropriate margins as per APA guidelines. The format must be in a WORD document.
- Part I is a minimum of 1 ½ and a maximum of 2 pages in length.
- Part II is a minimum of 2 ½ and a maximum of 3 pages in length.
- Part III is a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 pages in length.
- Total pages of Parts I, II, & III combined is a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 pages in length.
Papers must include at least five (5) literature sources and at least five (5) citations within the paper. There should be, at a minimum, one scholarly citation for each of the following points: leadership style; power; motivation theory; and two citations for the critique. You can add additional citations as needed. The textbook is NOT a scholarly source. Direct quotes are NOT acceptable & must be paraphrased using your own words.
The paper is created in 3 separate sections. Parts 1 and 2 are edited drafts and will be returned for revisions. The final paper consists of Parts 1 and 2 with revisions and the final critique (Part 3). The final grade is the sum of all 3 Parts of the paper.
All submissions should be entered directly in Canvas. Part 1 is a file upload to Canvas only. Submission for Part 2 and 3 is a file upload in Canvas but also uploads automatically in TURNITIN. Please confirm your paper has been submitted successfully and report any issues to the faculty.
A penalty of 1 point per day will be taken for late submissions.
