Based on your viewing of this video, answer the following response questions. Note that you will have to pause frequently to write down information from the video – meaning you will probably have to view the film more than once to complete the assignment. MAKE SURE YOU ALLOW ENOUGH TIME TO DO THIS ASSIGNMENT WELL!!!!!
1. (9 pts) Identify THREE speakers that you agree with, state their name and affiliation, and briefly describe why their position or statement touched you.
2. (6 pts) Of all bible verses quoted – select TWO and evaluate how they apply to the issue of this video and session. Your answer must be PERSONAL – not just a parroting of what the video says. How does your PERSONAL experience with God’s creation and with scripture inform your answer.
3. (4 pts) What is general vs. special revelation and what bible verse defines general revelation? Explain your answer.
4. (6 pts) “Stewardship”; “Social Justice”; “Blasphemy”;. “Consumerism”;– Explain how these themes are interwoven in this video and how they are connected.
BONUS: (3 points) The Sierra Club cites who as their founding “father”. What is the spiritual training and background of that person?

There are 8 short videos posted there that are narrated by celebrities. View each video and answer the following questions:
1. (5 pts) Which video do you think was most effective in making its point re “Mother Nature,” or the component of our environment the video speaks to. Explain your answer.
2. (5 pts) Identify and discuss one way in which the message the videos present is consistent with the message of the Our Father’s World video.
3. (5 pts) Identify and discuss at least one way in which the message the videos present is NOT consistent with the message of the Our Father’s World video.
INTEGRATIVE QUESTION:
1. (10 pts) Evaluate from your own perspective which of these approaches to conservation and the environment – secular vs. faith-based – you think could have the greatest impact on raising our awareness toward moderating human impacts on the environment. Note that one approach emphasizes Christian values, while the other is based on secular values. In your answer, discuss honestly your level of awareness toward “Creation Care.” If you feel you are generally aware of these issues, explain why – what has lead you to this awareness. If you feel you are generally unaware, also explain why, and then discuss what you think could be done to promote our awareness toward “Creation Care.” (BTW – if you are unfamiliar with the term Creation Care – better do some searching on that to.)
GRADING:
This is worth 50 points to your Assignment grade. Your answers must reflect an honest investment of your time and thought in considering the points raised. Your responses will be graded based on following instructions; organization; and completeness of your answers. DO NOT write what you THINK I want to read à your answers should be honest, complete, and thoughtful reflections on the topics.
BTW – if your submittal is poorly written or carelessly written (i.e., full of grammatical and spelling errors), I will deduct points. If your answers reflect minimal or only average effort – then you will receive points equivalent to a C, since that is the grade for average understanding of an issue.
