In the first industrial revolution, new technologies had a positive long-term impact on work and wealth as they led to increased productivity, new jobs and the accumulation of capital. The (rather pessimistic) thinker Martin Ford insists that things will be different this time round and that the effects of AI will be far more negative. Do you agree? Why?
