In the first industrial revolution, new technologies had a positive long-term impact on work and wealth as they led to increased productivity, new jobs and the accumulation of capital. The (rather pessimistic) thinker Martin Ford insists that things will be different this time round and that the effects of AI will be far more negative. Do you agree? Why? Choose THREE articles/interviews/clips and provide a link to them in your answer. Evaluate them in the context of what we have been exploring in class about the impact AI and automation is having and will continue to have on the nature of work and working conditions today and in the near future.
