Analyze the whole Gospel of Mark and write a research paper on the theme of discipleship from the perspective of Mark’s Gospel. The paper must address all the following issues:
1. What is the definition of a disciple? Provide a short overview of the different approaches to discipleship in the contemporary church. What is an ideal disciple based on your church’s approach to discipleship?
2. According to the Gospel of Mark, what is the picture of an ideal disciple? Please ensure that your picture draws from the whole Gospe of Mark, and not just a single
segment in it. How is this related to the way you perceive and understand the person of Jesus, and His Messiahship?
3. Discuss the similarities or the differences between the way you (or your church) view discipleship compared to Mark’s perspective of being a disciple.
4. Having done numbers 1 to 3, discuss at least three things you have learnt about discipleship from the Gospel of Mark, and explain how they can be applied in your spiritual life or ministry.
