An empirical review and evaluation of project failures within renewable energy sector in Nigeria.
The paper is for MSc project management program.
The potential for RE in developing countries is evident by many researches and examples of Cape Verde and South Africa delivering RE projects to success.
Renewable energy is the way forward and globally it is predicted that it will represent a third of energy supply (REF); therefore, projects are being commissioned at exponential rate globally including Africa. Despite successes and references of good practices for example in Europe, USA and parts of Africa, projects commissioned in Nigeria have not fully delivered the expected/anticipated result nor are they meeting the growing demand for energy (REF). This research will look at why Renewable projects are facing challenges and why they are not sustainable focussing on Nigeria. This research aim to understand the
Impact of culture and political environment on the delivery of successful ptoject; the involvement of community in the development and delivery of project.
