Ethical Practices in Business
Directions: Please read through each question carefully and answer fully. This is a short essay exam. Two – Three paragraphs per question should be enough if you are concise in your answers. Fluff answers do not help your grade, nor does restating a definition from the text. I want your take on the following issues covered the second half of the term. Use quality writing style and complete sentences. This is worth 25% of your total grade for the term!!
Note: If you do take words from the text or elsewhere, be sure to document your source clearly. Only do this if it helps you to answer the question, however, I want your thoughts first and foremost!
1.) Please discuss why environmental protection is an ethical responsibility for all of us in business? Or is it?
2.) We completed the Corporate Cultural Ethics Audit in Week 5. Why do you think it was assigned and discussed at length? Was it helpful to you in your learning? (please feel free to be honest of course).
3.) Harassment in the workplace is a real issue. We dived deeper into that as it relates to cultural sensitivity. Can you expand on this topic? Provide an example of something that may be considered harassment in one culture and the norm in another. Please do NOT to use an example that was already provided in the discussion Week 6. Please keep in business related.
4.) This course is meant to open our minds to why people do what they do, ethically, as it relates to their culture, religion, upbringing, etc… It is also meant to bring awareness sensitivity issues we may face in business so we can handle ethical scenarios carefully. We discussed the “4 S’s” in Chapter 7. Can you please wrap up the course (and this exam) by discussing those? Examples of each are required and your thoughts!!
