Reaction Paper #3 – Social Change
As we come to the end of the semester, it is essential that you apply your intercultural knowledge, skills and attitudes to help create a more equitable, just and peaceful world. With this in mind, I want you to view yourself as an agent for social justice. According to Sorrells (2016), “social justice is a goal and process of enabling the equal participation of all groups and the equitable distribution of resources in society. Social justice includes a vision of the equitable distribution of resources where social actors experience agency with and responsibility for others.”
With this concept in mind, read and apply it to the following two articles that follow in this module:
- “Crack, Heroin, and Race”
- “White Face of Addiction”
Then, write your final Reaction Paper offering your own individual insight on one of the issues that is discussed in the articles. Please do not regurgitate or summarize the article, I have read them. Instead, you should adhere to the instructions for the Reaction Papers.
Submission Instructions
- Should be 1 page in length (do not exceed 1 page, no exceptions), single-spaced with a space separating each paragraph.
- Use 12 point, Times New Roman. Only include your name, date, and course section in the upper right hand corner (also single spaced), no titles. You should begin writing on line 5.
- No independent research should be conducted for this assignment.
- Establishes your own thesis, with your own point of view highlighted in the paper.
- Adheres to the rules of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. Make sure that you have clear, coherent paragraphs that establishes unity and a connection to your own thesis.
- Presents both sides of the argument with evidence and support.
