Environmental Justice.” We use the book by Robert Bullard called “The Quest for Environmental Justice”. We’ve had the EPA come visit for class before & we’ve had RTD come and visit to talk about transportation.
Please give a brief history of the movement, from the local to international, including founding
moments and figures, legal innovations and issues and using relevant examples.
Describe and examine the theoretical framework, key findings and claims and relevant
terminology and tools, including ways that the Environmental Justice movement is distinct from and
clashes/complements the mainstream environmental movement.
Please reflect on the role of community and grass-roots organizing/resistance in the Ej moment.
Also include your experiences of community learning and field trips, group presentations and
projects and our time with community partners and guest speakers. (The EPA came and visited)
Reflect on ways this class has complemented and challenged your thinking and understanding
about the environment, justice, race, equity, pollution etc.

For your final assignment please write a summation and a reflection on your learning experiences in this course. This paper builds on previous assignments, asking you to step back and take a broad view of the movement and step into and reflect upon your experience. Think of this paper as a to-go package, as a document where you can encapsulate your major learnings from this class and open them up in a few years for a comprehensive review.
This paper should be 6-8 pages, 12 point font, double spaced in APA format with cover page and a reference page. Please use at least 6 sources.
Paper should incorporate the following:

Grading is as follows:
15 pts: Paper is well written, engages relevant theory as well as personal reflection.
11 pts: Paper is adequately written, engages relevant theory as well as personal ` ` reflection.
8 pts: Paper is adequately written yet only engages either relevant theory or personal reflection.
5 pts: Paper is poorly written.
0 pts: Paper is not submitted.
An additional 1.5 pts will be reduced if paper is not in APA style.
An additional 1.5 pts will be reduced if paper is not reviewed by the Writing Lab.
